Parago update

Post by Neil »

The Parago development team have just released a new update to the Parago system. As with previous updates, this does not require any user action and fixes a number of issues as well as introducing new features that will improve your ability to record and manage your assets effectively. Please take a few minutes to familiarise yourself with the changes to ensure that you get maximum benefit from your Parago subscription.

In addition to minor bug fixes and cosmetic changes, the main improvements are:

Advanced search
- Pre-defined and custom filters allow you to provide precise criteria to ensure you find what you’re looking for

New report system
- Advanced report type with filter rules to specify the assets to be included
- New software licence report type for use by individual accounts and account managers
- If you require a report that cannot be created using the available types please let us know in the forum (http://parago.itvision.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=9)

ParagoAgent waiting queue is now part of your Infrastructure
Items found by ParagoAgent, and waiting to be placed, are now stored in a ParagoAgent container within your infrastructure. This will give the following benefits:
- Move unplaced items to the clipboard and paste them into your infrastructure or continue to use the place items button
- Software licences will be tracked immediately, even before placement
- Search can find items still waiting to be placed
- It is now possible to undo placements

Manually add software licences
- You can now manually Add licences to the licence manager before they get auto-created. This can be used to show that you have the licence, even if you do not have the software installed.

Hardware-driver list
- ParagoAgent now identifies items as assets only when it can be certain that the hardware exists
- Everything else that is detected is put into an ‘Installed Drivers’ folder
- You can convert items in that folder into assets
- Drivers will not appear on asset reports but they will be shown in search results
